Not because it was convenient. Because the wavelength matched: standards, pace, an eye for detail.
Yeah — I kind of have a “credo.” And yeah, it’s kind of a super cheesy calendar quote: “A picture needs an idea before it needs a camera.”
Sure, sometimes you just catch a moment — but the really good ones rarely happen by chance. Probably also the reason I still enjoy getting up before sunrise after 15 years.
Photographically, I’ve worked a lot for Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai and Munich Airport — and for plenty of others, big and small, across all kinds of industries.
These days I only pick up the camera for projects that feel right. And for myself.
I have a soft spot for things built to last — whether made that way by someone or shaped that way by time.
An off-roader that works as both an expedition vehicle and a wedding car.
A timepiece you could’ve drawn in 1965 and still in 2065.
A mountain river that’s been cutting through stone for millennia.
Probably also the reason I prefer singletrails over forest roads.
When I’m not sitting on an idea, I’m outside.
With my son, my Labrador Lilly, my partner. Or with Tom — fishing, grilling, getting out there.
24 years of friendship, 15 years of working together every day.
